PRESS RELEASE
PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN TRC DEVELOPMENT AND TU DELFT AEROSPACE
Today on the 23th of July 2002, at the world’s premier annual aviation happening EAA’s AirVenture 2002 in Oshkosh USA, the Delft University of Technology's (TUD’s) Faculty of Aerospace Engineering and TRC Development b.v. from the Netherlands announce they have come to an agreement to collaborate on developing low cost full flight simulators for small fixed-wing aircraft.
Until now, realistic full flight simulators were only available for airline type or military type aircraft, priced at millions of euros. Thanks to this collaboration TRC Development is able to produce a series of aircraft
training devices and full flight simulators with extremely realistic flight dynamics at affordable prices.
For the first time, aircraft training devices and full flight simulators are built as a serial product, thereby coming within financial reach of smaller organisations like local flight schools and even private pilots.
"The co-operation between TRC Development and the Delft University of Technology's Faculty of Aerospace Engineering enables our group to collaborate closely and to achieve hands-on experience with a new and fast growing industry. We found TRC's forward thinking in parallel with our views about today's possibilities for low cost full flight simulators utilizing personal computers and our high fidelity flight models," says prof. dr. ir. J. A. (Bob) Mulder, chairman of Delft University of Technology's Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, Control and Simulation Division.
"We are excited about the agreement between TU Delft Aerospace and TRC Development and see this as an important and productive co-operation, enabling us to increase our penetration in the global flight simulator market by offering highly qualified products. TU Delft Aerospace's expert knowledge on flight simulation technologies, human perception and high fidelity flight models will boost our effort to develop more realistic flight training devices and flight simulators," says Curt Roth, TRC Development's founder and president.
About TRC Development b.v.
TRC Development designs and manufactures realistic Flight Training Devices utilizing replica's of real instruments. The first products out of a line of ATD’s, FTD’s and Full Flight Simulators are based upon the Cessna 172 Skyhawk, world's most popular single engine aircraft. TRC Development b.v. is established in 1999, is funded by private investors and situated in at Rotterdam Airport in The Netherlands. Its products are sold worldwide via distributors and local representatives. Recently TRC Development closed an agreement with the Delft University of Technology's (TUD's) Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, renown for their accurate flight dynamic models. This co-operation enables TRC Development to deliver full flight simulators with excellent flight dynamics.
