The Netherlands, Rotterdam, the 12th of September, 2002
PRESS RELEASE
TRC DEVELOPMENT ATTENDS FLIGHT SIMULATOR WEEKEND AT AVIODOME SCHIPHOL
Dutch company TRC Development b.v., based at Rotterdam Airport in The Netherlands, will be exhibiting at The National Flight Simulator Weekend at the Aviodome in Schiphol, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The event will take place on Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th of October 2002.
TRC Development b.v. will demonstrate its Basic ATD system, an affordable and versatile entry level Aircraft Training Device. Instead of an LCD screen to simulate the instruments, it uses mechanically driven instruments utilizing servo mechanisms and electronics. The Basic ATD is a realistic copy of the instrument panel of the Cessna 172 Skyhawk, with all instruments in the exact same position as in the original aircraft. All this is driven by a PC-run Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002. The connection between the complete panel and the PC is realised through only one USB connection. The system is a perfect VFR/IFR training solution for home or business use like flight schools.
The theme of this Flight Simulator weekend is "History revived with flight simulators", referring to "Connie's come back": the return of the restored Lockheed Constellation to the Aviodome museum.
The Aviodome Flight Simulator weekend takes place twice a year. It attracts on average 120 exhibitors from different international organisations, as well as individuals, who bring their own equipment to the Aviodome to show virtual flights to the public. In addition to simulation, relevant subjects like self-construction of the cockpit, hardware and software products, scenery and design of airplanes, and Air Traffic Control (ATC) will all be on display.
Last year the event attracted 2000 visitors. Opening hours on Saturday and Sunday are 10:00 AM - 17:00 PM. For more information about the National Flight Simulator weekend, please visit:
